Fallston Boys Basketball Inclement Weather Policy
If Harford County Public Schools close due to inclement weather, there is no rec basketball that day or evening. THIS INCLUDES FALLSTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH FACILITIES.
If the school closure is on a Friday, check the main website for a call for the weekend. A CLOSURE CALL ON FRIDAY FOR THE WEEKEND WILL BE FOR THE ENTIRE WEEKEND, FUMC included.
If the PROGRAM IS CLOSED ON SATURDAY, IT WILL REMAINED CLOSED SUNDAY.

Can I register on-line?
Yes, download TWO registration forms, then following the instructions from the home page.
My son is a very good player, can he play with an older age-group?
Situations such as this are handled on an individual basis. It is imperative that the parent register IN PERSON to discuss this with the age-group commissioners.
My son is a very good player, can he play travel ball?

My son is trying out for his school's JayVee team, can he still play rec ball if he gets cut?
A common question. Answer: yes. BUT, here is what you must do:
1) Register him, with payment.
2) Note on the registration that he is going out for his school team. Your check and registration will be set aside.
3) Notify us on whether or not he makes his school team. He is does, your voided check will be returned. If he doesn't make his school team, and he still wants to play rec ball, he will be placed on a team. If he has a change of heart about basketball, your voided check will be returned.
What is the cost?
Ages 5-8, $60; Ages 9-17, $90....cash or check only, please.
TRAVEL PLAYERS WILL HAVE ADDITIONAL FEES.
How long does the season run?
The season starts early November, with the balancing clinics for rating the players. The season ends about the first week in March, depending on the weather this winter.
When do practices start?
Practices begin in early December.
When do the games start?
Games begin in early January.
Do the games count?
League records are only kept from 9-10 up.
Can I get my son with a certain coach?
Yes, as long as it does not create teams with unbalanced talent.
Can I get my son with his brother?
Absolutely, if they are in the same age-group. Just request this at registration.
Can I get my son with a buddy?
Yes, as long as it does not create teams with unbalanced talent.
Can I coach?
If you can't, we'll show you how. We are ALWAYS looking for volunteers to coach, assist, score, sell refreshments, time, and help with practice. Be advised that In-house basketball is for learning, fun, and competition...in that order. Please check your ego at the door.
Are the games refereed?
Yes, FOR 4-6, THE SCRIMMAGES ARE COACH-REFFED; FOR 7-8, THE GAMES ARE COACH-REFFED; ages 9-10, 11-12, and 13-14 are officiated by High School and College students; ages 15 and up, and 15-17 are officiated by certified adult IAABO High school Officials.
How can I get to referee the 9-10 or 11-12 games?
First, you must be at least 15 years old.
Then you must attend all four training sessons, and pass a test.
